The General Education Center (GEC) is committed to the spirit of Angela Merici in Ursuline education and provides diverse courses to support the 5-year junior college, 4-year college, and 2-year college programs at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. The general education (GE) requirements are intended to provide undergraduates with a broader scope and balance to the study of a specific major. They are designed to enable students to apply the abilities and skills developed in the majors to communicate effectively, identify significant issues, collect and rationalize available evidence, come to conclusions, and act considerately. Since most of professional departments are dedicated to languages at Wenzao, the GEC plays a critical role in designing and providing courses to ensure students exposing to different disciplines. At the center, courses provided from three distributive categories: Natural and Environmental Sciences, Society and Laws, Liberal Arts and Logical Argumentations, lead students to a wide-angle view of learning. GEC offers high quality curricula not only to fulfill the requirements by the Ministry of Education but also to nurture students with a holistic education.
